Hello! I’m a choir director, composer, singer and creative workshop leader based in London, UK

I write music, and love creating collaboratively. My own work has been played on BBC Radio 3 and performed at the Southwark Playhouse and IndigO2, and I’ve worked on creative projects with ENO Baylis, Spitalfields Music, The Space, and the East London NHS Foundation Trust. I’m fascinated by the interplay between improvisation and composition, and use Vocal Painting (VOPA) as a means of creating and developing music in the moment with vocal ensembles.

I’m a singer, and am convinced that everyone else is too. I run inclusive singing activities across the UK, including my own community choir, Sing Tower Hamlets. I sing with London Contemporary Voices, with whom I’ve performed with Imogen Heap, Laura Mvula and Amber Run. I also conduct for LCV, and have led performances at the Union Chapel and the Southbank Centre’s Queen Elizabeth Hall.

I have a PhD in Psychology from the University of York, and was a youth worker for many years before branching out to work in music in 2012. I trained as a Music Leader with Spitalfields Music, and graduated with a Professional Masters in Innovative Choir Leading from the Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus/Aalborg (Denmark) in 2019.

I’m also an artist working with words and watercolours under the name East London Lettering - check out my lettering work on Instagram!
